Hello! I’m Jake, owner of Horizon Home Inspectors / Howell Home Services. I’m a certified home inspector and full-service handyman with a strong construction background, which allows me to look beyond surface conditions and understand how homes actually function — and fail — over time.
For my inspections, I use professional-grade equipment designed to identify issues early and accurately, including:
• Thermal imaging to detect moisture intrusion, insulation deficiencies, overheating electrical components, and hidden leaks
• Moisture meters and thermoscopes to confirm moisture concerns and track problem areas
• Radon testing equipment for accurate, compliant long-term or short-term radon measurements
• Augers and prodding tools to evaluate exterior soil conditions, drainage concerns, and wood deterioration
• Hand tools and access equipment to properly inspect attics, crawlspaces, basements, roofing components, and mechanical systems
In addition to full home inspections, I also provide:
• Radon testing
• Well inspections and water sampling
• Septic evaluations (visual/operational, with coordination for pumping when needed)
My goal is to deliver clear, factual, and well-documented reports that protect your clients without creating unnecessary alarm — while still making sure real issues are properly identified.
